The national flag of Malaysia. The blue canton in the upper left features the crescent moon and star, traditional symbols of Islam. The alternating red and white stripes represent the equal status of the 13 member states and the federal government. Adopted in 1963.

National Anthem
The national anthem of Malaysia is "Negaraku" (My Country).
The core theme of the lyrics is: "The land where my lifeblood flows. May God grant peace and blessings under our rightful King." The melody was originally adapted from a French chanson.
