Public Holidays in Russia

  1. When a public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the following business day is observed as a substitute holiday. However, when a weekend holiday falls during the official New Year Holidays, the government may reallocate those off-days to other working days throughout the year.
  2. When a public holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, the government often designates the preceding Monday or following Friday as an additional day off to create a long weekend. In these cases, a nearby Saturday or Sunday is typically designated as a working day to compensate.
  3. Temporary holidays and additional days off are marked in blue.
