Public Holidays in Russia

  1. If a public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the following working day becomes a substitute holiday. However, when it overlaps with the New Year Holidays, the government may reallocate those days to any other working days throughout the year at its discretion.
  2. If a public holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, the preceding Monday or following Friday is often designated as an additional day off to create a continuous long weekend. In such cases, a nearby Saturday or Sunday is generally designated as a substitute working day.
  3. Temporary holidays and additional days off are marked in blue.
